Sound for Video Session: DEITY THEOS V1.9 — Fixed high frequency?
In this week's Sound for Video Session, we turn, again, to the DEITY THEOS wireless microphone system. Last time we had a listen and found that the audio that was transmitted has some high frequency artefacting — digital block looking things when viewed on a spectrogram. HOWEVER, DEITY notes that they fixed this issue in a recent firmware update. Let's take a listen!
And also, we'll do a bit of ear training again today — got to keep those ears sharp!

In this week's Sound for Video Session, we have an initial look at and tests of the Spacer Bubble. This is a slide-on cover for boom microphones that evidently works significantly better than traditional foam and fur covers. Sound for Video Session: Wiring talent with Brittany Myers
In this week's Sound for Video Session, we're joined by Brittany Myers, a utility sound technician (UST) working in the Atlanta, Georgia area. As a UST, one of Brittany's role on the film set is to position and concean lavalier microphones and wireless packs on the actors. This is an art and a science — to ensure the microphone is not seen on camera — but also to ensure that sound is captured at the highest quality possible.
Find Brittany's new course, Wire Like the Pros, here.
