Sound for Video Session — Fairlight Desktop Console & Q&A
In this session, we'll have an initial look at the Blackmagic Design Fairlight Desktop console. This control surface has the potential to speed up a Fairlight workflow for those who mix videos with several channels of audio. It also has a small screen for each channel, transport, faders, and other controls. You can also connect an HDMI monitor directly to the control surface so you can see all of the settings without taking up space on your main DaVinci Resolve screen. We'll also answer your sound for video questions.

Sound for Video Session — ZOOM F3, Ear Training, & Q&A
The ZOOM F3 has been out for a couple of years now and we've had several requests and questions come in over that time. So in this session, we'll take a look at how to set if up for various audio recording scenarios. It was originally pitched by ZOOM as a tiny recorder with XLR inputs to capture sound effects out in the field. But there are a few other use cases as well.
We'll do a bit of ear training, just to keep ourselves sharp — so we can fine tune our sound and our mixes in DAWs and recorders. We'll also answer your sound for video questions.

Sound for Video Session — ZOOM H4essential first test & Q&A
The ZOOM H4essential is a new version of a very well known handy field recorder. The original H4 was my first audio recorder back in 2007. It was super convenient and affordably priced and a great way to get a start in recording sound for podcasts and video. But it had some major weaknesses, too: Preamps which didn't supply much gain and were quite noisy when pushed to higher gain levels, odd controls, and not the greatest build quality. But the newer versions have become progressively better and, astonishingly, the newest version H4essential is still priced at only $200 USD. So we bought one to try it out. Oh, and they added 32-bit float recording which a lot of prosumers, in particular, find quite useful.

Automatically clean and boost your audio with Auphonic and DaVinci Resolve
In this episode we show you how to automatically mix and post process the audio for your videos. We show you HOW to export the audio mix from DaVinci Resolve, then upload it to Auphonic to automatically clean, de-noise, level, and boost your sound levels. We then insert the new, clean, audio mix back into Fairlight within DaVinci Resolve and export your final video. This is a great way to save time!

MOVO X3 II Budget Shotgun Mic: Quality Audio for Cheap?!
In this episode we have a look at and listen to the new MOVO X3-II shotgun microphone. This budget shotgun mic is a solid option for anyone building out their first filmmaking kit, but its audio quality is definitely good enough for pro-sumer applications as well!
