Aputure LS 600c Pro LED light — Creative Lighting Demo

In this week’s episode, we have a look at Aputure’s newest addition to their Light Storm 600 series: the 600c Pro. This is Aputure’s first full-color point-source fixture and completes the Light Storm 600 trifecta alongside the 600D Pro and 600X Pro. It’s equipped with an RGBWW color LED array, a standard Bowens mount, a redesigned user interface, professional connectors, a variety of powering options, weather-resistant construction, and Sidus Link integration. In this video, we’ll show you a couple of ways it might be creatively used to light a film production. Let’s take a closer look!

Aputure COB300d BIG LED Light for Film & Video

Since Aputure announced the new Light Storm COB 300d at NAB earlier this year, I’ve been looking forward to getting my hands on it! The 300d is a daylight balance single point LED light which draws about 320 watts which is a ton for an LED. They say this is a 2K tungsten equivalent - if that really means anything, but it is a much more powerful LED light than I’ve ever worked with before. In this episode we run it through its paces and look at its build quality, included accessories, features, color quality and light output. I hope you find this helpful!

Versatile Video Light: Aputure Light Storm COB 120d Daylight LED Light

In this episode, we take a look at the Aputure Light Storm COB 120d, an incredibly versatile daylight balanced LED light for video and film. Aputure has a history of finding a very nice balance between affordable pricing and quality products. The COB 120d is a perfect example of that. This is a single LED light with a Bowens S mount. This means that with some additional accessories attached to the mount, the light can be a soft light (with a softbox, scrim, or bounce board), a hard light (with a fresnel and/or barn doors attachment), or a flood light with the included reflector. Color quality is a high priority for me because I don’t have time to invest in a lot of post color correction. Fortunately, the COB 120d delivers on that front as well in our color chart tests compared to tungsten lighting (the best color rendering light source second only to the sun).
